T'ai Chi Ruler

Tranquility at last!
Great video from Phil Young and Masterworks International. The exercises are clearly explained and demonstrated, so it takes little time to get right into it and start your daily dose of mental and spiritual tranquility! It's a shame there isn't a lot more information concerning these ancient practices, because they deserve the kind of broad audiences that more fashionable qigong styles are currently enjoying. I, for one, would love to see people in the parks of the West indulging in a variety of forms, inculding this one. Buy it, watch it, practice, and feel the stress just flow away!

Excellent DVD, great practice!
This is a GREAT DVD! I chose this one because its blurb said this practice activates the eight strange flows or psychic channels, aka the eight extraordinary meridians, which have fascinated me for years... The DVD is beautifully produced, set outdoors by a small river, and truly a pleasure to watch. The T'ai Chi Ruler set consists of 6 very simple exercises, includes variations and increasing levels of difficulty, and can be done with or without the "ruler." Many teachers say T'ai Chi Ruler is one of the easiest practices to feel the chi, and that is my experience with this DVD. One very interesting section illustrates each extraordinary channel and describes briefly what each does, and which elements of the exercises stimulate that channel. The DVD has clear diagrams and animations which demonstrate the chi circulation. Narrator and demonstrator Phil Young says the exercises are good for health enhancement, and also to increase the chi of the hands for healing. A sample of the DVD...
